Where are some of the cheapest places to live?
I currently live in New York on Long Island and it’s so expensive here. Ridiculous expensive 
I’m wondering where are some other states that are considered cheap to live in?

Tennessee.  We moved to Nashville from So Cal, San Diego to be exact. Also there is no state income tax.  Sales tax is about 9.75% for regular shopping.

I live in Louisiana and prices here are very reasonable. Especially real estate.

Upstate is extremely affordable in contrast to the city but it’s still NY. We are considering areas in the south but the schools are rated poorly in contrast to New England.
