Should babies sleep in the dark

My kid is 1 month will be 2 months Wednesday . Should I let kiddo sleep in the dark with just a night sleep. Kiddo sleeps in my room with his crib next to me bed. I’m just not sure if I should be putting baby in dark or continue to leave tv on for light at night. ( I’ll ask doc but we don’t have our 2 month appt till Friday)
