Any Nurses?

Question

I start a new job tonight is my first night of orientation. I learned i was pregnant when i got the job in August it will be easy to cover until im ready to tell them but i have sciatica from the pregnancy. So im a bit worried im in the ER its at night so i font think it should be too busy. Hows working as a pregnant nurse?

Not an RN but a CNA who has worked both ED and the units. I can't speak for anywhere rural but if you're in a fairly urban environment, it's really hit or miss. Especially noc shift, there will be times the lobby is standing room only and other times where waiting room is empty and there are only a dozen patients. It's been a while since I've worked noc shift but I've come in at 0700 to 13 patients and 8 were psych holds and I've come in at 0700 to 55+ patients in rooms in the ED waiting for beds upstairs.

With both pregnancies i worked until I delivered. I was in early labor my whole last shift 7am-6pm when I finally decided it was time. Baby was born 5 his later lol You get tired, but it's doable.

Not a nurse but sonographer and it was rough sometimes but I worked until 38 weeks and delivered at 38+3. My worst days were standing in the OR/Cath lab for hours on end. When I was free to move around (sounds like you will be) then I just made sure I ate and drank a ton of water.
