Does shoulder pain have to mean ectopic?

Glow app says I’m around 5 weeks 3 days. Almost my entire back hurts. It’s mostly in my lower back & upper back. I also have some pain in my shoulders I’m hoping I’m just stressed and paranoid about having ectopic & that’s why my shoulders and upper back are hurting. I have my first doctors appointment next Tuesday. Does shoulder pain have to mean ectopic ??

Best to follow up with your doctor but I will say, early on I was having lower abdominal pains, back pain, and pain in arms and shoulders and I was really worried! The pain was mostly from gas and the arm and shoulder pain did go away. Ultrasound at 7 weeks confirmed baby was in my uterus and nothing in my tubes. I did IVF and transferred two embryos so I was really nervous one was in my tube. Best of luck to you!

It's unlikely for an ectopic pregnancy to give you that symptom at only 5 weeks. I had signs of ectopic but my dr said that even if it is ectopic, there's usually no symptoms until 7 or 8 weeks at the earliest. The fact that you're feeling it at 5 weeks is actually a good sign. You can report it to your dr, but it's likely from stress (good stress, like being pregnant, is still stress ) or spinal alignment issues

Increased blood flow to your abdomen (which is normal) can make shoulders and/or arms ache. Drinking lots of water helps as well as stretches. Particularly opening up your chest because we tend to curl up a bit more during pregnancy. The change in blood flow is also what causes some of the dizziness and light headedness. Wishing you luck 💜

You need to call your dr right away if you think you might have an ectopic pregnancy. Better safe than sorry get it checked out because that can be dangerous for you. Besides the sooner you know then the less you will worry. Praying everything goes really well and that it’s not an ectopic pregnancy.

You could just be really stressed and tensed up. Try massaging the spot very gently. It’s hard to say if you have ectopic based on just symptoms alone because I knew someone who had it even without any pain.
Don’t worry too much about it! I know it’s hard but do try to relax. When I was about 5-6 weeks pregnant, I had aches as well because I couldn’t sleep well.

I had AWFUL shoulder pain week 6 and had emergency surgery for heterotopic pregnancy on exactly week 7
