What happens with hypertension?

I’m curious what will happen if I am diagnosed with hypertension. Throughout my entire pregnancy my BP was phenomenal (100/60s). About 2 weeks ago I started to notice my number increasing on my home monitor to 120s/80s which I know is normal but considered high normal which was odd for me. Then at the appointment last Friday it was 140/80 I believe. The doctor said she wasn’t going to get concerned yet since it was the first one and since I’m coming back this Friday, we would see what happened. My home readings have continued to stay elevated and I’m curious if when I do go on Friday and it’s high again, what would the next step be? At that point I would just be at 37w so would medication be prescribed so close to the due date or would an induction be more likely?
