Has anyone had experience with a sudden stop in cramps while using an IUD?

I have been using the copper IUD for a few years now, and I always have intense cramping the week right before my period.

Last month I had no cramps and a lighter than usually period, and this month I am also not experiencing cramps (period in a couple of days).

Is this cause for alarm? Has anyone had a similar experience? Could I be pregnant?
