You can retest, but because your period late doesn’t always mean that your pregnant unfortunately! 
There are a number of things to why your period could be late e.g
.stress
.late ovulation 
And loads more!

I had a negative test at hospital one week later took a home test and was pregnant they were shocked

I was 15 days late before I tested positive. I had a MRI and they tested and it was negative. I was 2 days late. Then 6 days after that, still no period, so I tested again. Still negative. I have been irregular and was breastfeeding for 18 months at that point so I just felt I was not having periods again due to still breastfeeding and I gave up. The 7 day’s later I still felt off and I had a dream I was pregnant so I took another test (15 days late at this point) I took a test and I was positive. He is now 4 months old
