Silver Nitrate Cauterization

For those of you who have had bad tears (I had a third degree), and ended up with granulated scar tissue, how was healing for you? I didn’t heal right and have granulated scar tissue that needed to be cauterized with silver nitrate (which hurt like hell), but I know its possible that I’ll need another treatment or even surgery. For those of you who had that treatment, did one time work and you healed fine after that? I really would like to be done with the pain and the dripping blood from friable tissue but I have a feeling I’m still not healing well because of the pain.
