My cat has pica, she will eat anything... toilet paper, hair ties etc. you can’t make them stop unless you want to drug them up, think kitty Xanax. I didn’t want to go down that road, so I try to think like my cat and make sure she can’t get to anything shed be tempted to eat. After $3000 surgery to remove hair ties that obstructed her intestines I take this pretty seriously. Be careful, string is especially dangerous for cats and sounds like yours is interested. Inspect your house daily for anything she might want to get at and either throw it away in a covered bin or in a drawer or something she can’t open. Good luck!
Cat with pica?
Does anyone have a cat with pica, know someone that does, or have any experience on this? My 6 year old cat likes to eat plastic, rubber bands, blankets, strings, etc. I’m having a hard time getting her to stop. She still eats normal and drinks her water, but every once in a while I find strings, blankets, plastic, etc in her throw up. Anything I can do to get her to stop doing this? Is this kinda normal? I’m worried about her health.
