Covid

I was informed my sister was with someone who has covid closely for 30 hours last week and she was also at our wedding and stayed the night at our house. She found out her friend tested positive for covid Thursday and told me saturday. I'm going in for a test tomorrow and told my work I was getting tested and now they told me not to come in until I get my results back. I feel like I'm being overdramatic and my friend said I should have waited until my sister got her results back. Should I have waited to get tested? I'm also pregnant and diabetic so double high risk.
