Stay because of the kids?

Question

I feel ready to be done with my boyfriend. He hasn't done anything wrong, but I just feel like our relationship has ran its course. However, my parents are telling me that I need to suck it up and stick it out for the kids.. do I? We have kids separately that we have been raising together.

your wasting your time just leave. you can care for your kids separately y'all didn't have them together. are you gonna just be unhappy forever ? "just for the kids"?

No! Staying “for the kids” doesn’t help them, it only teaches them that dysfunctional relationships are okay. My parents hated each other when I was growing up, I wanted them to get a divorce so they could be happy, but they stayed for us. So now they’re in their 50s and 60s with 30 years of a crap marriage and 5 kids who have no idea what a good relationship is supposed to look like.

Nooooo! Especially that you don't actually share any children?  I grew up in a home with 2 very unhappy parents who should have separated years before they did. It was miserable for me. Once they finally separated, I was 17. It was so nice to not have the tension and silent fighting coming from them anymore!  I am a huge, huge, huge believer in parents being happy and in turn their children will be happy. Kids know when there is something wrong. I would never, ever stay in a relationship for children. Its bad for them and its bad for you! You need to be happy and deserve to be in a relationship that you want.. or single if thats what you want! Dont listen to anybody else
