What do you do for your acne? I always have breakouts before, during or after my period. I wanna get rid of my zits/pimples ASAP! Lmk what to do!! Any pimple cream or skin care routine you do for lazy people like me pls recommend‼️‼️ I’m too lazy to do things that take like 20 min long. All I do is face wash and acne lotion lol

I wound up having to see a dermatologist for my breakouts. I tried a bunch of over the counter stuff and it either didn’t help at all or dried my skin out so bad it looked worse than the blemishes. My breakouts turned out to be hormonal acne - they’d start a few days before my period and my skin would clear up a couple days before my period would end. They also presented as painful cystic blemishes primarily along my jaw line. My dermatologist put me on an oral medication that helps block the hormones causing the breakouts and a topical gel that speeds up the skin renewal process which helps keep the cysts from forming. She said no amount of OTC products would have helped because of it being hormonal. Super easy - quick pill every morning and apply the gel right after shower before I put on makeup. Birth control pill would have helped me too since it regulates hormones, but I got my tubes tied last year so I DON’T have to take the bc pill.
I’d highly suggest seeing a dermatologist so you can get the correct treatment for the type of acne you have. That being said - there’s a topical medication called Differin Gel. It’s a retinoid that used to only be available by prescription, but the FDA approved it for OTC distribution a tote while ago. It also helps speed up the skin renewal process and kills bacteria that cause breakouts. My doctor told me to use it in conjunction with my other meds if it seemed like I needed more control. So far I haven’t had to use it but I did research it and it seems like an effective OTC option. I hope this helps!
