Neighborhood cat
Ever since I moved into this house an orange cat would just randomly appear in my backyard and meow at the backdoor. I thought maybe the old owners were feeding him and left him? Anyways I felt bad and would feed him sometimes. Recently he’s been coming to my house more often like 3 times a day just going crazy meowing at the door and every time I open it he tries to run in, when he know I’m done letting him and going to go inside he runs to the door and tries to run inside then too. He has successfully made it in a couple times and I feel bad because it really seems like he wants to be adopted by us.
Until my fiancé was on the nextdoor app and someone had posted a picture of him saying that it was her cat, he’s an indoor outdoor cat and he hasn’t been home in a week and hasn’t been eating over there, and said he must’ve found food elsewhere. Now I feel pretty guilty, I feel bad that the owner isn’t seeing her cat and I feel bad because the cat comes by every single day crying at the door for pets and some food.
My fiancé is telling me I need to stop feeding the cat and completely ignore him but I’m weak and an animal lover, so it’s really hard to ignore a cat who literally cries at your window and paws at the door when he sees or hears you in the kitchen 😭😭
