Blighted ovum experience?

Question

Has anyone had a blighted ovum miscarriage that would be willing to share their experience? 
I found out on Tuesday that I had a missed miscarriage and am waiting for my body to catch up with the news.

Just from my own personal experiences, I would recommend the D&C, I found out at my ten week scan that our baby never made it past 8 weeks, confirmed with my ob on a Tuesday and scheduled my D&C for that Friday, however I started bleeding on Tuesday and asked if I’d make it until Friday and was reassured that I had plenty of time, however things ended up progressing naturally Thursday morning, it was painful, not going to lie, and messy. However the worst part was my experience with my ob after it had all taken place, I had my mom call and ask what we needed to do next after everything had passed, I was told to come into the office right away and bring what was passed so they could make sure it had all passed naturally and nothing was left behind, I was still in a good bit of pain but managed to shower and get dressed with the help of my mom and hubby, made it to the ob, was still doubled over in my chair and the cramps were still going, when checking in I asked if the could go ahead and take the container with our LO back for examination so we didn’t have to sit with it and have people stare and question us, they wouldn’t. I had to sit through two waiting areas full of happy glowing pregnant women, and let me tell you, that was such a slap in the face, all while holding our plastic bag containing what was left of our pregnancy. After about two hours of waiting, I was finally taken back to my room where the took all of two minutes to look at things and let me know I was good to go back home. It was honestly more traumatic than my miscarriage it’s self, having all of those eyes watch you as you failed your pregnancy, it was horrible. Prayers and good vibes your way mama, it’s such a hard thing to go through, but you will come out strong and the pain will get easier with time, much easier said than done, but you will get there, I promise! I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum 2 weeks ago. I was supposed to be 8 weeks, but the gestational sac was empty and only measured at 6 weeks. Last week it had shrunk and collapsed, so my doctor ended up doing a d&c for me Friday. I am thankful that I got the d&c done because I’ve heard a natural mc can take a while with a blighted ovum

This past September my first pregnancy was a blighted ovum. I found out at 9 weeks ultrasound. Took misoprostil at 11weeks took a total of 6 pills orally this past Monday and began miscarrying that evening into Tuesday morning I had very painful contractions for 9 hours past a lot of large clots since then no pain the heavy bleeding lasted 2 days and not just spotting. So sorry your going through this. Praying we get our rainbow babies once our bodies heal! 💜

I had one in 2015. I found out at my 12 week scan. I took a tablet and passed the pregnancy the day after. Xx sorry for your loss

I had a blighted ovum with very low hcg levels in February and decided to try the natural way : drank herbs (clary sage) and did a looot of sport to make it happen. It worked after a few days. Yet the miscarriage was very painful and I bled heavily for a few days. A few weeks later I still had a patch of pregnancy tissue... and  in May it was still there 😣  So I couldn't put this loss behind me for a long time...
This time, a week ago, even if the pregnancy and the numbers were promising it happened again. Because of what happened before, I chose to do a d&c. I've hardly felt any pain and I don't spend my days bleeding. It's not been a week and I feel I can already look towards the future... so from my experience, natural way is not always the best option. It depends on each pregnancy, each body...

I’m sorry for your loss. I had a blighted ovum and miscarried on August 31st. I was supposed to have a d&c but ended up miscarrying naturally the day before. I was 10 weeks but they said pregnancy stopped at around 7 weeks. I’ll help with whatever you want to know or if you just need to talk

I found out when I should have been 7 weeks but only measured at 5 weeks 2 days.
