Baby girl born 9/26/20

Sara

So I figured I would share my birthing story.

I had been in labor for basically two weeks with no progress I eventually got in after two weeks and being nearly 4 cm dilated but nothing else aside from contractions every 7 minutes. So we were induced. Pitocin started slowly at 7:30 am. By 10:30 am my waters were broken to attach a fetal monitor to her head. 12:40 rolls around and my epidural while working was not fully numbing and I felt a god awful burning and my husband was telling me to call the nurses. The come in shortly after and say I’m a whole 8 cm. So they removed the catheter and I tried to rest. Not even ten seconds after they left the room my husband hit the call button again because I was feeling the urge to push and I felt her head and knew.

When we started pushing he realized she was looking up instead of down so he had to turn her and after she turned she crowned quickly. Well he didn’t have time to clear her airway because she shot out like a nerf dart. I literally saw arms and legs flying!! She was 5 days early and tiny! She definitely was a screamer though she cried nonstop til she was out on my chest. My sweet husband stayed by my side even when I tried ripping his arm off. My big strong marine turned into mush over this tiny human we created. And while I am healing and dealing with baby blues this man has stood by my side. Not only being a daddy to our girls but being our provider and my rock when I’m feeling inadequate.

Welcome to the world Harper Sage. You are beyond beautiful and so very loved!
