When to tell toddler that Im expecting?!

I haven’t told my daughter. I have been pretty sick, but I try my hardest for her not to see me puke or anything. We will probably tell her on thanksgiving or Christmas. We are due April 5th.

Thanks ladies! I think I will wait til 12 wks unless im really sick before then. Ive been nauseous but not sick. Its just 4 more weeks. I want to get a Big Sister book too for when we tell her.

Your daughter is older than my son was (not quite 2 when we found out we were expecting) so it didn’t really matter when we told our son lol. He didn’t truly understand until we brought the baby home! Since your daughter is older I agree with some of the other moms - once your 2nd trimester begins. So exciting congrats!!!

We had planned to tell our daughter when we told the world (because she’s 3 and can’t keep her mouth shut lol) but I was so sick we had to tell her earlier so she didn’t think I just didn’t want to play with her anymore. 😅

I told mine at 7 weeks after I seen baby was healthy. I told my 1.5 year old at 4weeks😂 I’m now 19 weeks. ❤️ I had to tell him at 7 weeks because I was so sick and he was really worried about me. Tho he did end up telling people before we were ready😂

I told her when I was like 12 weeks but she was like 18 months and didn't even care in the slightest 🤣 She cares more about baby number three coming though.

I told my January 2017 girl that she was having a January 2021 baby sister as soon as we got the positive but I wish I would have waited because she wants her sister now and I’m only 27+2 today.

I’m still waiting to be able to have that moment but honestly I think I would tell my son after I tell my husband because I’m not one who likes to wait (my whole family and close friends knew when I was 5 weeks pregnant with my son) and even if there was a possibility of a miscarriage, I would want him to be involved in any kind of memorial that I would likely do for the baby. Maybe I’d feel differently when the moment comes, but I’m guessing that’s what my husband and I would do.

Congratulations! I think in told my daughter when I was like 12 weeks. But that was when she had just turned two so she didn’t understand as well.
