VA Loan Question

Hi! To those of you with experience or any knowledge with VA loan, I just have a quick question. My husband’s ETS is the end of this month. After that we are planning on moving and taking advantage of getting a VA loan. My question is..typically before applying for a mortgage (without a VA loan) you need to have been employed at your current job for more than 6 months to show you have a steady job and income. At least in my state (MA). With a VA loan, is that also the case? If we want to move further away, how do we get a house if we have to wait 6 months of him starting a new job? I’m a stay at home mom, so I’m no help.
