What do you think of the homeschooling due to covid-19?

My nephew is doing better than he ever did in school. He really loves the fact that he can work at his own pace and as long as he actually keeping up no one is on his butt about what he needs to do. We’re switching him over to home school next year to keep him being able to learn the way he’s learning.

My girls are already half way threw their 4th and 7th grade year already bc they’re at your own pace program so it’s been great for us 🤷🏼‍♀️

i think it depends on the kid, the way they learn and the parent’s.

Well, I think at least they aren't speeding covid 19 if they stay home. 
And, I think it's impossible for me to know if they are learning. If they do their work, yes.

The biggest issue i have is.....how damn much more food is being consumed in my house omggg. I told my teen to.use her school stomach cause she wouldnt eat this much lol. As far as learning... its fine cause she actually does her work and advanced however i have seen MANY kids fall behind bc their parents cant/wont help esp hard for the ESL families in my area. Its sad. I actually think a higher percentage will show kids are not thriving 😔

I think it depends on the kid them self. We are all different and one way of Learning, might be great for one kid and be wrong for another. Such as one child may like and thrive doing home schooling.It may seem not as stressful and they are able to learn at their own Pace. Other kids do better learning in a class room environment. 
It also depends on the the child’s parents, are they able to be home supervise and to help when needed.   It can also depend on the child age. 
All kinds of things work in to the equation. But I do think 🤔 we should take into consideration what the kid likes more and what environment is best for them.

What do you mean by “homeschool” here? Do you mean families planning/implementing their own students’ lessons/activities? Or remote learning?
