I like dressers because it’s just something that’ll grow with the kid whereas changing tables become obsolete and just another “baby” item to get rid of down the road. I know a lot of people say they don’t use changing pads but my daughter is 2 and I still use hers on her dresser, ESPECIALLY when I was pregnant because it was easier to do than getting up off the floor.

I think I assumed we would be doing diaper changes on her pad for a year or two - reality, it stopped after 8 months. 
Since then, I’ve kept her pad on the floor and asked her to stand on it while I changed her diaper. 
So I’d recommend a dresser because even when you are done with using it for diaper changes, you’ll still be able to use it.

We have a dresser with the changing pad on top and we use it all the time.. some people don’t use them but we love it. I will say I don’t think it matters either way you go but I like the dressers storage

So I have serious back issues so changing on the floor is hard for me to get down and back up. Also my little guy always peed during a change. He is 16 months and still does sometimes. So we prefer a changing table that is dedicated to handle that kind of mess. We like the dresser option because it saved space, feels stable, lots of storage on top, lots of storage in drawers, easy to grab socks and clean clothes, my son actually likes his changing table.
