How do you deal with separation anxiety?

Question

I think my 15 month old is having separation anxiety at bedtime. Sometimes she cries out hysterically and I pick her up and rock her for a while. I can't stand to hear her like that. 
This has been going on for at least an hour. 
How do you deal with separation anxiety in toddlers?

I just gave up fighting him and started cuddling until he falls asleep:) now he is 16 months and it’s slowly lessening so I’m slowly starting to put him into his crib when he is 90% asleep and whisper nighty night in his ear quietly so he knows I’m leaving.

For my toddler it only lasted for about a month were I would have to let him fall asleep next to me in my bed and then move him to his crib. We would always try the crib first and eventually he was fine in his crib and we didn’t have any more issues.

Dealing with this right now and it’s so hard 😢 I just finally got my son down to sleep (for the third time) by just sitting next to his crib and holding his hand. Unfortunately, me sneaking out of the room woke him up, but 🤞🏼he goes back to sleep bc he seems calm! Good luck - this is not fun!
