How do you divide chores in the house ?

Hubby and I have a 9 month old. Ofcourse having a small baby takes up 90 percent of my time but I love being a mom so much I don’t complain. My husband tries to help here and there but I do most things myself. Today my husband got upset with me because he says the house isn’t clean and it stresses him out. I honestly lost it when he said that because our space is literally empty as we haven’t furnished it since we moved in March. I have 0 time for myself and I do not complain, I cook for us, I care for the baby, I feel the least he can do he help me clean a little. He really makes me feel like I don’t do anything and I should be glad he is here for me and I’m not a single mom.

In my house I clean and care for the kids myself. He works 7 12s every other week and when he’s home his responsibilities include spending time with me and the kids and taking care of our yard work. But this is my house hold and what works for me! If you need more help tell him straight up that if he feels like something needs to be cleaned then by all means clean it himself 🤷‍♀️ I don’t believe making a chore list or chart or saying hey you do dishes and I’ll do laundry bc your adults and both of you know what needs to be done so you know you can just do it

I have a 9 month old is well. The adjustment is difficult. It’s me who feels like he does nothing but then I stop and think we’ll he does cook every night, gets the baby from daycare and bathes him too. I’m working full time remote and I like I get to see my son more, be there for dinner time, and such but I think it’s getting to me too much. Is your husband home working remote too?

I feel like you should communicate this to him so he understands how you are feeling. Use “I” statements so you are explaining how you feel

My opinion is that his role as a parent IS to do the house work. The baby is young and needs mom more than dad, you're doing your part so he needs to do his. Maybe make him a chart or something?? My husband is the type that needs a play by play/chart before he gets into the habit.

My boyfriend and I basically split everything up 50/50. We take turns making dinner, washing dishes, laundry and cleaning. We also are about 50/50 on taking care of our 3 month old too. She is formula fed so we both can take care of her equally. I could not (and have never wanted to) have a guy who did not also do the chores and parent our children but that’s just me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have always wanted a partner in life not a “man child”  to take care of. You have to see what works best for your family and yourself, if it’s not what’s happening now then you two need to talk about it.

Hello, so I would ask him directly what it is that is unclean then? I am a neat freak and my husband after living together for 8 years has adapted. Like he enjoys the way we live now and the first couple years took us some time to figure it all out. Yesterday I had him help me with cleaning and that hasn't happened in over a year. I am a stay at home mom and take care of the home and he takes care of working and the yard. The exception is I am 14 weeks pregnant sick and needed extra help as I just got home from the hospital. Hope you all can talk it out and find a happy solution that brings your home happiness.

I look after the kids and inside chores while my partner does the outside chores and help with the kids, and he bathes both kids too
If I’m having a bad day he’ll help me with dishes and taking rubbish out 
This is what works for us tho
We also both work full time (I’m currently on maternity leave tho)
