Will get rid of my cat😰

My cat is almost 12 years old and her pee smells really bad, sometimes I feel like she has an infection or something because the smell is extremely strong. But my mom wants to give her to a place where they can keep her. 
Either one can someone advise me please

Smelly pee is not a reason to get rid of a cat. Especially a 12 year old cat who has lived an entire life and will probably have a hard time adjusting to a new home at her older age. Is she peeing on furniture or something? Like maybe the litter box just needs to be cleaned more often 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just take her to a vet? And even if they say that her pee will just always smell bad, that’s not a reason to get rid of an animal

... Who gets rid of pets because their pee smells instead of taking them to the vet? And maybe it’s because you’re not cleaning out the litter box frequently? Are you using good litter? Using litter deodorizer? 
Hate how many times I’ve seen people on here talk about rehoming their pets for the dumbest crap. If you’re going to rehome your pet because their urine stinks never get a pet again.

Yeah I agree with the others, take your cat into a vet. If the cat does have an infection, get it the help it needs. That’s such a weird reason to get rid of a cat..
