Do you have pet insurance?

If you do have it, which company? How much per month? Pros and cons?
We got a mini Aussie last week and he’ll be going to the vet this Saturday. Wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on pet insurance.
Also, did you chip your dog? (Or cat?)

I have pet insurance for both my dogs, My dog had to have his eye removed and stayed 2 days at the hospital. They hit us with $5000 bill that insurance paid.

We don’t have pet insurance but I wish I signed up for it when I adopted my cat! He has special needs now and is very expensive and we can’t sign him up anymore lol def get it, just in case! 
And def get your dog chipped!

We do. We also have a dog that requires a lot of medical attention including a very expensive dermatologist. Shes allergic to almost everything (pollen, most trees, black flies, a lot of food, etc) so we have to take her in frequently and she gets bu weekly injections to help her allergies. 
We use healthy paws and I believe it’s around $29 a month. Worth it.

I do not have pet insurance. My vet accepts payment plans for emergencies. If they are closed and I have to go to another vet, I have a care credit card for them. Both of my cats are chipped

My cat is chipped. The shelter we got him from chipped him. I decided to get him on insurance after our last cat costed me over $3k for a blockage surgery.. then when he got blocked again I had to put him down because I couldn't afford another surgery. It was heartbreaking 😢 Our current fur baby is on Pets Best insurance, $30 per month and we pay every 3 months. It's worth it, it practically covers everything from checkups to surgery.

We have insurance on my horse (I used to compete, so there was a lot of traveling and therefore greater risk of an accident). 
No, we do not chip any of our animals.

I would definitely get it if you have a cat or dog. I just wish they had insurance plans for other types of pets like birds, reptiles, and small mammals but I wasn't able to find any.

Chip is good, tracker is better (usually can get a good one through your phone company ex :TMobile Pet Sync Up). I would get insurance by the first birthday. 
If anything happens and you dont have THOUSANDS set aside for vet care, it may be the difference between life and death.
