You can only pretend to be someone you’re not for so long... it’s the reason 52% of marriages end in divorce. People PRETEND to be nice, kind, smart, outgoing, whatever the other person wants them to be. Then 1, 5, 10, or 30 years later, the truth comes out. People just need to be themselves and find people that Luke them FOR them.

It’s fine to change for the better for someone else, as long as you are happy with the change and you know it is a positive thing. It’s important to still stay true to yourself

I think we all end up changing certain things when you’re involved with someone, if something bothers them or irritates them like leaving the toilet seat up, obviously then making an effort to change that bad habit would be appreciated. If something you do irritate someone, you try not to do that to bother them, such as somebody who chewing with their mouth open and making an effort to not do that type of thing because it bothers them or somebody who’s constantly tapping with a pen or clicking with a pen obviously that can be irritating and you want that person to stop. But if it’s something like I don’t like the color of your eyes and I want you to surgically change them, absolutely not, but if it was something like he likes you to dress up in lingerie I would make the effort for that.  if it was something like Im into o role-play sure, I would do make that effort or some S&M, whatever it may be I think we all are willing to make some kind of compromise when it comes to certain things but when it comes to something that bothers you to the core like something that you’re insecure about, I think that’s a little different, but I also think that relationships are about compromise and effort and consistency, if you know your partner like something you Can you make the effort to remember that they like that and you try and purchase something that they like or whatever it may be.￼￼ But if it’s some thing like surgery is necessary or something that you’re insecure about, probably not I mean it’s one thing if you both are overweight or you’re overweight and he’s overweight and you want to lose weight together or we had a baby obviously etc. it’s up to that person if they decide they wanna lose weight or not and if this is something they want to do together or not. It’s not like I’m telling him to go get surgery to enlarge his penis or anything like that.Or give an ultimatum but if you don’t do this then I’m not gonna be with you, that’s ridiculous and also shallow as well. If it’s something that’s doable, I don’t mind doing it but if it’s something that’s hits close to home or something you’re insecure about etc., then that’s a no. I am a plus size girl, and it’s my decision to lose weight not that the person I’m with wants me to, he said to me the other day he wishes I would walk around naked more often he loves my body. High 5 to him for that one and I appreciate him so much for that comment etc.

Absolutely not. I’m all for self-improvement, but you should only change things that YOU want to change to better yourself. If your partner tries to make you change, whether you want to or not, then that’s a red flag to me.
