So heartbroken💔ðŸ˜
So I posted a while back about my mums dog biting my one year old. Well today I had the tough conversation with her, I told her I don’t want my son going there unless the dog is shut in a crate or in a separate room. Thankfully this time he only had minor injuries, but I’m not risking a single thing, as next time might be a different story!
Well my mum flipped out. She did not react the way I expected at all. The long and short of it was, she’s not having me dictate to her what is done with her dog. I should watch my son more carefully, because he’s my child not hers to watch. She turned it around on me saying I’m a bad parent and gave the example of, I let him walk on concrete unattended and he could have fell and banged his head (he’s been walking since 11 months, he’s now 13 months). Which I’m sorry but that is not the same at all. Apparently I’m being unreasonable and am telling her I want her to get rid of her dog, who is her everything (cheers mum🙄). I NEVER told her I wanted her to get rid of her dog, that’s ridiculous, I would never expect anyone to say the same to me either. She’s just blown the whole thing out of proportion and turned it into a personal attack on me and my parenting.
I’m just so lost for words. I can’t even begin to understand how she can flip this around on me when HER dog bit my child. I’m expecting my second in December and I hate the thought of her not being around. But I stand firm in my decision, it’s just so toughðŸ˜
