Cramping with spotting 8 days early

So I started spotting on Monday 10/12 and have been spotting on and off since, I have had some intermittent cramping along with that but it has not turned into a full on period. On Monday I was 8 days away from my expected period. I don’t want to get hopeful and think it is implantation related. Has anyone else experienced this and gotten a BFP or did your period come?
