How do you tell if baby has a cold?

Probably a dumb question but I’m a FTM and I think my baby might have a cold. We don’t go anywhere so he rarely ever leaves the house (6 months old) but the last couple of days he’s been sneezing and coughing more and has a little runny nose. He doesn’t seem fussy or overly tired and no fever. What do you think? 
I plan to call the pediatrician if it continues but I’m thinking they can’t do much about a cold.

No need to call the pediatrician on this one. It’s a little cold. Run the humidifier, use saline and a nasal aspirator 3 or so times a day - don’t overuse it or it could damage the inside of the nose. Let nature run it’s course. You don’t use any meds like Tylenol for a cold. You just keep babe comfortable.

Pretty much the symptoms you described except since he’s sneezing it may be allergy induced instead of viral.  My son got a cold at 3 months old and it was crazy because we hardly left the house.  I just used the humidifier at night and gave him the elderberry cough syrup that Zarbees makes ( the one safe for babies 2 months and older).  He got better in a few days.
