Induction at 39 weeks

I’m currently 37 + 2 today , I go to get induce the 28th because my baby is measuring so big he doesn’t want to end up delivering a 10+ pound baby I’ve measured 2.5 weeks ahead since about 28 weeks, last week at 36 weeks I had a growth ultrasound and he’s weighing about 7 pounds 11 ounces , I’ve read a lot about how inductions aren’t really best and puts baby in a lot of stress .. what are some ways I can get him to come on his own before I have to go in on the 28th ? He also checked my cervix today and I’m only a fingertip dilated .. I’m open to any and all advice FTM here
