Leaving baby?

Me and my partner are getting married soon and we wanted to go on a honeymoon for a week in the summer and our baby will be about one years old and a few months and I’m wondering if it would be fine to leave her alone with grandparents? I’m not too sure what one year olds are like so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not

For me, that would be way too long! 😬 maybe just do a weekend, or take her with you?

Definitely! Spending time and bonding with the grandparents is a great gift for children. And it’s your honeymoon! We never went on a holiday without kids, but now I’m pregnant with number three and I really regret it because who on earth is going to watch 3 kids under 4 for a weekend or week 🤣 do it while you still can, with more kids it is going to be difficult.

Should be fine, just try your best to get baby sleeping good at night and not needing feeds just to make it easier on the grandparents. And obviously try spending a lot of time with them at their place leading up to it so they’re all used to it. Maybe trial a few sleepovers with you there and then some on their own beforehand too just so it’s not a sudden shock of where am I and where’s my mumma?!

Yes! We did this with our babe when she was 6 months. She did just fine! She was very familiar with my mom at the time so I imagine the only concerning thing would be if your babe isn't very familiar with grandparents, drop off may be rough.

Yes! Do it. We went on our honeymoon when my son was 13 months and left him with my mother for 10 days. They had the best time. She road tripped him all over to show him off to her friends and he took his first steps while we were gone. When they came to get us at the airport he was soooo excited and tried to run to us when he saw us. I was in tears and everyone was pointing and smiling at him.

Absolutely! As long as the grandparents are able to care for baby, you trust them, and they will listen to your wishes while you're gone there is nothing wrong with leaving baby

My son was 13m when we went on a honeymoon/babymoon/my 30th birthday. We left him with his grandparents for 5 or 6 nights. If they're willing and you're comfortable it's fine
