#pressure vs #truth
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹.
As a health coach I def feel the pressure to “look” a certain way... but I’ve felt called lately to keep it real af with y’all!
Yes I’m a petite person. Yes I have a fast metabolism. Yes I’m “fit” and pretty damn healthy. I do have extra skin. I do have rolls. Even if I lose weight, and build muscle I 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 do 𝗡𝗢𝗧 walk around with abs poppin and a flat tummy because why?
𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘀!
𝗜 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱!
There’s plenty of before and afters I could show you of myself or women I coach losing weight
, strengthening, toning and transforming their bodies with health and fitness... but I don’t think the focus or even the point of health and fitness should be weight loss or muscles... I tell this to all the women I coach: the focus should be 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛!🤩
If you don’t feel good, have low energy, aches and pains... then weight loss 𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 be something that could benefit your body... BUT generally, just being more active, eating healthier options more often and drinking more water does way more for you than going into a deficit (diet) and over exerting yourself in long ass workouts.😥
Body builder/fitness competitor/fashion model bodies are not real life for 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 people. Ditch diet culture. Drop “model body” norms. Let go of “Instagram realities.” Stop comparing your body to someone who stays fit for a living or a competition. Let’s, instead, live healthier in the bodies we have.🤗
Remember, a still, posed photo is not real life.🙈
I know I’ve over compared myself before too. I’ve sucked it in. I’ve twisted turned and held my breath for that Photo before too. I’ve felt the need to have flat abs and look a certain way... no more. We can be healthy. Love yourself, you won’t regret it.💕
(I shared a “making of vid” on my IG @kerri.borba if you wanna check it out!)
