I am not a fan of gender specific gifts and boy or girl I’d ask their parent what they “want”. Magnatiles, tegu blocks, a doll, toy mop and broom set, animal figurines.

I got my daughter a plastic tea set. I came within the click of a button of buying her a real Tiffany tea set for when she’s older, but my mom talked me out of it saying I was spoiling her. So we’ll settle for a fake tea set and some money in her college savings account.

For my son we got him a doll that can be used to get used to his new sister coming soon and also help him potty train, it wets itself if given water. We also got him magnetic tiles and a bike. A few sports items like baseball and basketball (has has been going crazy with the baseball bat 😄). In general he also loves animal figures. I also agree with the other commenter that there is no need to gender role them, they are kids and get into anything their parents encourage them to get into.

We got my daughter some books and toys similar to what she's already shown interest in. Family and friends have gotten her things that are from shows she loves to watch, some have gotten clothes because she's outgrowing her current size.
