Is anyone else’s toddlers still waking up once a night for milk!?

My LO wakes up and cries till I get him milk then he goes to bed immediately afterward. I want to break this cycle. I have tried the method of Lessening his oz per night till we got to water, once I offered water he just cried. Also tried to not go in immediately when he starts to cry I’ll wait 10 mins to see if he soothes himself back to bed but he just stays awake and cries. I definitely want to break this habit, I know he is using it as a comfort rather then due to being hungry. Any suggestions on what worked for you guys? He is sleep trained and self soothes for when he naps and down for the night, we just place him in crib wide awake and walk out and he puts himself to sleep. Thanks y’all!
