hey guys so i recently started talking to this guy whom is 34. as of right now we are simply just friends but i am somewhat interested in him, the timing rn is just not right for both of us because we both each just got out of a 2 year relationship. i understand the reason as to why he is choosing to be single atm because of his crazy ex but im curious why he hasnt settled down sooner ? lmk your guys opinions thanks in advance

Not everyone wants to settle down in their 20s. 
Id also be wary of any guy who calls his ex crazy too, there’s usually a good reason why she’s crazy and most of the time its his fault she’s tripping...

He probably hasn't found the right girl and in his 20s he was working hard to climb the work ladder. Me and my sweetie are both 38 and never married. We first met at 25 as a fwb thing; I eventually wanted to be more but timing wasn't right so we just became good friends. Later on we reconnected and he wanted a relationship with me and I did too so eventually I moved to be with him still waiting for the proposal but confident that it will happen sometime soon.

There’s no time limit to when someone has to settle down. That’s an expectation society has helped drill into us that there is. There are people much older than 34 who have never settled down and aren’t married. Perhaps they don’t put as much emphasis on it like society and other people do. Maybe he’s been trying to work towards a goal and a dream and settling down he feels like would help halt and put his plans on hold. Perhaps the woman he has dated he has come to find out they’re not a good fit for each other or they don’t support his plan? Maybe he hasn’t met anyone yet who makes him want to settle down. The possibilities are endless why someone may end up choosing to do something but that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with them.
