I want to be a SAHM

I think it would be best for me to be a SAHM. My son is having issues in daycare and we are currently seeking behavioral/psychological testing. Im on leave from my job that I have worked for 14 years. They were not happy about it. However its my son and he come first.

Everything in my body tells me to stay at home with him and give him the attention he needs and deserves. My SO thinks it because I don't want to work. Which is not the case. This is my only son. Im not saying that I want to stay home forever, just until he starts school in 2 years.

Questions:

1. How do it with a decrease in income? He has student loans and I have small amount of debt that im slowly paying off.

2. How do i convince him its the right thing to do?

3. What made you all decide to be a SAHM?
