Overfeed breastfed baby?

I’ve read and heard so many times that you can’t overfeed when breastfeeding but has anybody experienced otherwise? It seems my baby cry’s a lot more if I feed him more often.

According to my lactation specialist you can and I definitely have multiple times. I have a very frequent letdown so if my baby nurses long enough she will get a second letdown and fill her tummy. She gets burped constantly but does spit up quite a bit if she nurses long enough.

Exactly what Allison said, my son is ebf, and while I thought he was overeating it wasn’t until he was almost 5 months old that we realized he was reacting to my milk,  oats and rice, since stoping he was fine not gassy, no spit up nothing and he eats the

You can’t overfeed a breastfed baby. But more feeding can cause more wind pains and if they’re having a reaction to something (dairy,gluten, etc.) that there may be traces of in your milk then feeding more will put more of this into their body and may cause tummy pains. So no, you can’t overfeed a breastfed baby because they’ll stop when they stop. But the feeds could be irritating the baby and more will therefore cause more irritation. If you’re really worried then you could speak to a paediatrician or something but otherwise just keep doing what you’re doing and hopefully baby will grow out of it soon x
