Was a bassinet necessity?

Question

We’ve decided on the stokke sleepi for our crib and am wondering if I should still get a bassinet. The crib starts as a mini crib and I was thinking of just using that in our room until we extended it to it’s full size. Has anyone done that instead? 
I posted a picture of it is you’re unsure what it looks like.

You should be good with just your mini crib! My girls co slept a lot, but when they napped or whatever they were in our bassinet! We don’t do cribs. We also don’t do pack and plays unless we’re traveling, I feel like the support in them is terrrrible. Like any brand, they are just not comfy feeling. Lol

I hope to get this crib too. The best part are the wheels. My sister had this with her babies and just wheeled that sucker around. Fortunately for her, she lived in a small flat. My house is tiny too so I would just stick with this crib setup. One less thing to store!

I never used a bassinet or a crib.. I used a pack n play for a year then switched to a full size with both kids lol but we have a big room.

No. It is not nessecary. I would have put just a crib in my room, but as my brother gave me his sons bassinet to use, I use it now, before I wasn't even planning on buying one, because I planned putting a regular crib in our room.

I got my daughter a crib bassinet and a rocker whatever she is more comfortable in but either or I believe is fine

I brought a bassinet but not an expensive one all though he’s ready for a crib now and would probably of been fine strait in crib.. only problem i can see with that is finding sheets for it, i assume you cant just buy any sort with the shape of it

No. I used a pack n play with an insert at the top and just used that as a bassinet for the first couple months before transitioning my son to his crib in his own room. The pack n play is much more useful and worth your money, a bassinet can only be used six months maximum, though usually babies grow out of them much quicker than that. A pack n play can be used for a few years and it’s multi purposed. More worth the money.

Our girl grew out of her bassinet at 2 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️ switched into the pack & play with a mattress. And will eventually transition into her crib soon 💕
