Is it wrong to watch horror movies as a born again Christian?

I think it depends on the personal convictions. For me, I don't because I actually don't like horror films. But it depends person to person, and I wouldn't judge a Christian for watching horror films and I wouldn't judge them if they have convictions not to watch them. To each their own. But if they feel convictions that they shouldn't, but they do, then it's a sin. I guess you could compare it to alcohol. Alcohol itself is not a sin, but if you personally have a weakness for it and it causes you to sin easily (like get drunk) then you should stay away from it as best you can. But someone (like me) doesn't have a problem having some every now and then, and it's not a sin because I don't get drunk. So I think it's different for everyone.

It is not a good thing, I used to watch scary movies before but how are they making me closer to God? They arent, they are making you more curious about the devil, they mock God and scary movies like many other things open doors for demons to enter your life

I dont think its wise because it can open a door to evil. I used to watch a series called Salem and it gave me nightmares.  So I no longer watch horror movies or shows about witches.

I believe it is wrong, yes. Why? Because no horror movie is God honoring, nor does it fall into any area that Philippians 4:8 speaks of: "...whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
