How did you know you were ready for another baby?

I’m very much back and forth with wanting another baby and so is my boyfriend. Our daughter was a surprise, we weren’t trying at the time I became pregnant. So we want our next pregnancy to be exciting and hopeful when I take a pregnancy test. 
Curious to read how you knew you and your partner were ready to start trying for baby number 2.

We hoped to have kids ~2yrs apart, so that was the timeframe we started trying again. I was excited and hopeful and definitely wanted to be pregnant again, but after going through postpartum depression I’m not sure if I would have ever felt 100% ready. I’m 20 weeks along now and I still go back and forth between excited and nervous.

We had our first at 17 unplanned. I’m now 22 and pregnant with baby #2 which we planned! We made a list after we had our daughter of things we wanted to do before having another baby and we would NOT try until then.
-get married
-me finish my college program
-be financially independent 
-homeowners 
-take trips with our daughter for her to have those memories with just us
We did everything on our list. We closed on our house end of February of this year and knew we would try quickly since it was the last thing on our list we needed to accomplish. After a few months of knowing our monthly expenses to a T and adjusting to being on our own, we started trying this July. Got pregnant first month TTC! Waiting was worth it!

Also pregnant with my 2nd and as someone else mentioned I still have no idea if we’re ready! We were very unsure but knew if we were going to have a 2nd we wanted them under 4 years apart (they’ll be 3.5 years apart when baby arrives). We both were very nervous when I got pregnant but now we’re at peace and really looking forward to watching our son become the best big brother. We do know this will be our last though 😂 hubby is making his vasectomy appointment right after this baby is out.

I’m pregnant with #2 and I still am not sure I’m ready for two kids 😂 but I think most importantly you should be financially ready for a second and be in love with your partner. With everything else such as buying a house, home renovation, work, college, traveling, etc you will never feel ready. So if you want a second baby just go for it!
