So a few days ago I went to my doctor discussing birth control. I found out my old doctor quit(didn’t like her because I always felt pressured by her to be on the pill even when I told her I didn’t want to be on it), so when I realized I had a new doctor I right away was very open to her about not wanting to be on hormonal birth control. I’m trying to treat my pcos at the moment with supplements and hormonal birth control littlerly makes me feel like I’m giving birth 🥴🤷🏽‍♀️(contraction like cramps). Before going to my appointment I was doing some looking up at different methods and came across the diaphragm. A cup you put into your vagina that prevents sperm from entering into the cervix. To make it more effective you use spermicide with it. I was very interested so I brung it up to her at the appointment. She said no one really prescribed them anymore due to their failure rate (18 of 100). Personally I don’t mind the failure rate because my pcos pretty much is a birth control for me. I just want a way to decrease my chances of a pregnancy right now as I get my hormones in order but honestly wouldn’t be mad if I got mad from using this. So she recommended the Caya brand and wrote me a prescription. We had to pay $55 outta pocket but the device lasts for two years so to me that’s completely worth it. I’ve always had the same sex partner so we wouldn’t have to worry about buying condoms constantly because we have a lot of sex.

Just got the device today and learning how to insert it and what’s not. It almost reminds me of a menstrual cup! Curious if anyone else has tried the device and what they thought about it. (Mine didn’t come with spermicide so I’m currently waiting for amazon to deliver the same brand for me). Loop
