Membrane sweep @ 38w success stories?

My OB told me to prepare myself for Monday because she is going to do a “vigorous stripping” of my membranes. I am being induced on Nov 9th anyway. Has anyone been put into labor by a membrane sweep this early? I am 2cm and 25% effaced only. I am trying not to get my hopes up but she sounded pretty serious. Told me to wear a menstrual pad and take Tylenol and to make sure I have nothing planned that afternoon. Would love to experience labor without pitocin so I’m excited for a chance. Had one put me into labor at 39+1 with my first daughter, but it stalled.

With my last pregnancy I had mine done at 38 weeks. Had cramping and a little bit of bloody discharge later day day. 3 days later my water broke at home and I had baby 18 hrs later!

I'll be induced nov 9th the latest!  Possibly 4th of 5th BUT I havent heard many success stories with the membrane sweep except that it makes you cramp up basically false labor and when they do it the pain is AWFUL. Girl good luck..

I had a sweep at 40+2 with my second. Lost mucus plug that day and contractions started that were pretty spaced apart. They got closer every day, and I ended up having him at 40+5.

I know several people who have gone into labor from a membrane sweep. Didn’t work for me though either time. All I can say is...”vigorous stripping” sounds intense 😬😬
