What happens at the 6 week postpartum visit with your OB?

Question

Do they do a pelvic exam or just check to see if the stitches have dissolved/discuss birth control, etc? FTM here wondering what to expect.

Answer

Some do pelvic exams. 
Sometimes they’ll do a pap if it’s time. 
They mostly check for PPD. 
They check my c section incision, but I’ve never had a vaginal birth, so idk if they check your stitches down there. You can always ask. 
I had postpartum preeclampsia so they’ll check my blood pressure and discuss that.
It’s a pretty quick appointment. Just a little check up.
