Lavender oil baths
So my nieces are 7 months old and I have managed “auntie fails” like that one time I called one twin by the wrong name all night( I genuinely felt horrible like I had wronged them). But that’s water under the bridge 😎
Because I did an auntie win tonight. She was on antibiotics and I swear to god one day later she has a brutal yeast rash, the skin is raised and swollen. When I took her diaper off and lifted her Into my bathtub, i could feel the heat just radiating from that rash. I filled her baby bath and dropped 2 drops of lavender oil in the water and washed her and let her just play and soak in the water. When she was dry, her rash had gone down and the skin wasn’t so raised and swollen. It wasn’t hot anymore like there was fever in it. She was falling asleep when I took her out and dried her off and was putting lotion on her.
Auntie win for the win
⭕️Disclaimer⭕️ Incase someone uses lavender for their baby’s bottom:
Lavender by itself is kinda harsh, especially on skin that is mad and hurting.
I only put two drops in her bath so that it could be super diluted, it’s very strong so she still smelled like fresh lavender when she got out. She went home to her mom and dad smelling like flowers lol
I just really don’t want someone to sit their baby in lavender and hurt their raw bottoms because I’m dumb and didn’t put a disclaimer to dilute
