If you have covid are you allowed to take walks outside or do you have to quarantine inside the entire time?

Both my 16 month old and I were diagnosed with covid, along with my husband and I’m really bored and my mental health is taking a toll. Luckily we all have very mild symptoms, but understand we can spread it to others. We all have been stuck inside and the and the other day we took a walk together outside and took pictures together. I posted them on Facebook and immediately my husbands brother texted him and asked for me to take them down because we were supposed to be in quarantine. He was just concerned because they work together and he didn’t want my husband to get in trouble, but why wouldn’t we be allowed to just go outside and walk as long as we are far away from people?
