I’m currently 35 weeks and want to take my maternity leave already. I spoke to my staffing agency and they said I would have to get a note from my doctor stating that he put me on bed rest, if not then I would have to keep working until I deliver.

I work in manufacturing making covid-19 testing devices and I’m stressed and tired from work. I wanted to get at least some type of rest before my daughter is here. And my workplace is kind of high risk since we are dealing with covid-19. We’ve had at least 7 positive people from work already.

Do you guys think that would be a good enough reason to tell my doctor so he can write a note for me to start my leave?
