Next... IVF Consultation

I got a follow up call from my doctor today after having my fifth consecutive loss. The last one was an ectopic and I had the methotrexate shot. I’m not sure why I got emotional when she suggested IVF because we were looking to start it next year.

Next steps, my husband and I will have bloodwork for karyotyping and I will get an additional test called Natera Horizon-14 panel. We’ll wait 4-6 weeks for results then have an IVF consultation after going over our genetic screening tests. I’m totally on board, my husband is not 100% because he doesn’t know the whole process so my doctor said she’ll go over everything and answer any questions we have. I have to wait three months to try anyways because of the methotrexate shot so it’ll give us time to discuss and make sure both are 100% in. I also found out my clinic no longer has the shared risk program for IVF so there’s a chance we will not get the money back if it’s unsuccessful but to me it’s so worth it if we bring a baby home. Thankfully my husband has partial insurance coverage through his work so we will only pay for PGT testing and storage of frozen embryos.
