Why does everyone make a big deal about stretch marks???
My entire life I knew that stretch marks were completely natural and had nothing to do with health or weight etc. my mom had brutal stretch marks from me and my brother and I never thought they were ugly or anything like that. Now I’m pregnant with twins and my stomach is being taken over by stretch marks, which does not bother me at all in the slightest bit, but I’ve had multiple people say something about it as if it’s a bad thing. “They’ll go away after they’re born, they’ll be less noticeable”. A girl told me.. did I ask??? I don’t care!! My mother in law every time she sees my stomach, she goes “oh my god!!!” and “don’t scratch them, they’ll get worse!!” And I always tell her “it doesn’t bother me!!” And she continues to have the same reaction every time! And I’ve had some of my pregnancy apps say “you might be feeling insecure because of your newfound stretch marks (sorry)” like what??
Why is it honestly a thing to make women feel ugly about something that shows how incredible you are? I wouldn’t have these stretch marks if I wasn’t able to create two lives inside of my body! Why the hell should I be insecure about some lines on my stomach? And why does everyone around keep trying to push it onto me? I swear pregnancy can be so annoying at times when people give you the most unsolicited advice and want to tell you their whole life story and assume you’re insecure about something that doesn’t bother you.
