I mean.... I’d take it up with his friend(s). It’s not his job to defend me, I can do that myself. When his friends dish shit out to me, I just give it right back.

What happened? If you were in the wrong, he shouldn't have to defend that, but if they were rude to you and he just let it slide, that's not ok.

I guess so, but I would be more concerned about him being friends with people who would attack others... Our group all understands that we may have different opinions, but we discuss them calmly and rationally like adults. There is no attacking.

For me if I’m going against one of his friends I tell him before hand not to say anything. If one of them pisses me off I can handle myself. He’s gonna have my back no matter what but sometimes that verbal beat down is needed.
