Baby Shower after multiple kids?

This is my 5th pregnancy, with 3 children at home. I have had a shower with my son and daughter and I've kept everything knowing I wanted a big family so I don't need a lot but just wondering if anyone else is thinking of doing the same? Some of my friends say yes every child should be celebrated but I feel multiple showers is frowned upon? I'm not sure! Would love to hear your answers!

I’ve heard people doing baby “sprinkles” instead of “showers”. That way you can still celebrate your new baby without everyone feeling pressured to buy you big gifts.

You can celebrate the new baby and say “no gifts”. You don’t need presents to celebrate. Those that want to bring something still will.

We still do them but say no gifts - although family always give them 😆 we just say we want to celebrate with them and we expect nothing but if they really really want to give a gift make it practical - ie baby wipes/nappies(diapers if you're across the pond!), booties, those kind of things

Our family typically does a “Sprinkle” for following children. More to help with diapers and if there is anything extra or different that you need. Especially since things get worn down and expire.

In my family we just do one big shower for the first baby... we stayed surprised with the gender for both of my kids, so a sprinkle wasn’t even a thought ... finding out gender of baby 3 this time , but not planning any type of shower or sprinkle

I think if someone offers to throw you one, you say yes. Probably wouldn’t throw my own shower though. I hear sprinkles are fun too. Personally I wouldn’t be offended being asked to someone’s baby shower even if I’d already been to one for them. If people are offended, they won’t come. Celebrate your baby if the opportunity presents itself.

We did a diapers and booze party for my friends second baby. I’ll definitely be doing that for my second! I also think it’s nice to get people together to celebrate you and the baby.

I have attended baby showers for people with multiple children. Sometimes they don't have a registry, but people typically bring gifts. I have never heard of a "sprinkle" or a baby shower without gifts. Maybe have one, and if people want to give a gift, they can. Or ask that if someone wants to give a gift they give gift cards only so you can get what you need and not worry about being gifted items you already have from previous babies.

My former church has a shower for every baby no matter what because every baby should be celebrated. It’s the ladies of the church who put it on and attend. Outside of that, I don’t remember every going to a shower for a repeat mom. We weren’t planning anymore children and got rid of all our baby stuff. Then got a surprise pregnancy, so I could really use a shower but I’d feel weird about it because I had all my children close together and my youngest is two and I should be set. 🤦🏼‍♀️
