To tell the gender and if there are any abnormalities?

Haven’t had mine yet this time, but I will always do it for chromosomal abnormalities for peace of mind. Gender is a bonus! Had a chromosomal abnormality that wasn’t caught my first pregnancy, so I use the panorama noninvasive test that has the most to test for.

10 weeks is the earliest. 
You should do it if you’re worried about abnormalities, but my insurance didn’t pay for it both times.
So if you’re mainly just wanting it done for gender, I’d wait and pay for an ultrasound at 15 weeks somewhere. The genetic testing was around $500 for me! (But I HAD to get it done with a little boy, I ended up losing him before results even came in. Then I did it with my daughter for “extra” reassurance..)

Is 9 weeks too early? I thought 10 was the earliest. This time I’m doing it at 12 weeks.

I did it with my first baby, since we were just too excited to wait. It was a major pain fighting the $600 charge but I did get them down to $150 lol. It was fun knowing early but I probably won’t do it this time around.

I said yes but we didn’t do it at 9 weeks. Our first pregnancy it was at 12 weeks and this pregnancy we have ours schedule around the same time. Definitely worth it to know.
