Thoughts on Matching sibling names?

How do any of you feel about matchy matchy siblings names? I.E names beginning with the same initial, names that rhyme etc? Do you think sibling names should match in this way, or should each child have a different distinct name?

I always find it strange when people ask for names that "go with" another child's name lol. I think each kiddo should have their own name just like they'll have their own little personality. 🙂

It’s not my style and I can’t stand when people go crazy with matching letters or matchy names. I instantly think of the Duggar’s or Kardashians and I can’t stand when people change the first letter of a traditional name spelling just to match a sibling letter set. Example: switching out a C for a K in Khloe 🤯
When naming all 3 of my babies, my husband and I had agreed no same first letter being used as our first, second born etc and no name starting with the same first letter as our last name. I dislike alliteration name/themes and we felt that everyone should get their own letter!

My little ones names match in terms of both being old Norse names, but it stops there. Can't stand matching/matchy names, or having to have the same initials, same first letter or ending 🤢

My sisters and I all start with M. It is so annoying, easy to mix up names. I’ve gotten used to being called my sisters names and will respond to it (I know it happens with any siblings but it’s definitely more common if you all have similar names lol) and I refuse to do it to my kids😂 I also don’t want to commit to a theme in case I have another kid down the road and don’t like any names that match.

Rhyming is cringe, too matchy is cringe— someone on here supposedly named their twins Easton and Weston 😬😬😬😬😬😬...Same letter can be okay if there are 2-3 kids but once it gets more than that it’s cringe to me.

It really depends on the names and if they go well together. I wouldn’t lean towards same letters, but themes are cute.
Overall, I go for names I like 😀

It’s not my thing, but I don’t think it’s weird for people to give their kids names starting with the same letter. I do think rhyming names are cringey.

I think siblings are best named when the names fit well together.  Specifically all from the same origin. All French If you are of French decent or all biblical for a bible believer or all Hebrew if you are a Hebrew. 
My children all have a three syllable first name and a one syllable middle name after someone in the family. It really gets limiting the more children we have which is annoying but it was my husband’s rule. 
I don’t care for the theme of them all having the same initial. It can be pulled off well, but I can’t help but think of how limiting it is. So many names you can never use.

i think it’s cringe i just dont like it. i’ve heard a few but the ones that come to mind right now are two siblings i know named brady and brayden. ive just always found it odd

I think it’s important for them to have individual names because they’re all different. Not saying that if you like two names that start with the same letter not to go for it, but I wouldn’t choose them based on “matching”. My siblings and I are: Patrick, Jane, Lillian and Max.
